Brand Identity
With derivation from Native American and Scandinavian languages, the name 'Skaala' suggests devotion to an architecture respectful of its neighbors, reactive with its site, and timeless in its design.
It was important that this timeless and minimal feel be executed across all materials.
We began by choosing a geometric typeface for the word mark, reminiscent of the original branding. Introducing a soft palette with a pop of color elevated and modernized the brand.
The logo uses tight margins and a cropped-in mark to allow the letters to act as both abstract, and organic shapes.
